Day 10-11
I'm really enjoying these motions, and I want to see them through to the end. Again this was a two day affair spent about 10 hours on this one. Overall I'm very happy with the posing, but there's just something in the timing that's bugging me and I can't quite figure it out. Critique and help always appreciated! Also, listening to some advice I added frame counters to make critique easier.
Days 8 and 9
I'm sorry, I broke my own rules of only one cycle/motion per day. I got a bit carried away with this and I wanted to see this motion through to the end, as the last critique I received they recommended I work on giving my animations more weight. All I can say is, look at those arcs! aahhh yeaahhh :P I worked on this for the better part of 7-8 hours and I'm definitely looking forward to hearing what ya'll have to say!
Day 7
Gaaahhh!! Here was another 4 hours of work on another cycle, and I can say I'm picking up the slack. I'm happy with most of the lower body, my biggest issue are the arms. Overall though I've made some progress. Whooo one week down on the project and one week to go!
Day 6
Would you look at that!
I feel after pulling this cycle off I can't look at my previous cycles the same way. I worked on this for 4 hours and I now need to step away for a bit and use some critique before I touch this angry man again. Reference made a whole world of difference. So this piece is open for critique.
Day 5
Need more time!!
Time flew by too fast while working on this and didn't really keep track of it as I was running around. But, for the benefit of doubt we'll say I had a blissful 3-4 hours of work. Tried something new today, and went for something more cartoony paying homage to my animation teachers who once taught me the secret behind the double bounce walk. The offset, threw me off completely, and I feel I got caught up pushing the pose as much as I could to the point where it's sickening how happy Norman is bouncing around. Definitely want to come back and finish this piece up as it was too much fun trying a double bounce in 3D.

Day 4
From yet another busy day and thinking I wouldn't have time to animate, to staying up late and disregarding my sleep to finish a animation I gave myself a high five. Not counting the 2 hour breather time after being out most of the day where I forced myself to work by blankly staring at the screen, this was a 4 hour work period. I feel like this piece is just about there, and I could use some critique >:D
I'm really enjoying the fact that with each passing day I'm enjoying my cycles more and more and thoroughly digging my mini project.

Day 3
Busy days, busy days. Sadly only had at most an hour and a half worth of work in today.
It's only Tuesday and the walk reflects my feelings towards external affairs.
For the time being, blogger can't find the video off of youtube, so I give you the link. I'll update it once blogger finds the video.

Day 2
Today I present to you, a cautious walk done in 3-4 hours.
Helping a friend out, I lost some time I wish I could have used to work on this cycle as I really enjoyed working out the timing on it. I'm well aware looking at the arms looks painful, and Norman's got the funks with his head bopping two things that needed more attention.
Plus side of helping out, I played Guild Wars 2 beta for a bit and I must say that game looks gorgeous! I loved the character creator. More importantly than Guild Wars 2 though, I finally mustered up the courage to post on 11 second club, and have been receiving some great critique!

Day 1
The results are in!
After spending roughly 5-6 hours animating I'm happy with my results and can say I put a perfectly sunny day to good use. For this animation I did not shoot any video reference, and my only aid was a mirror. Comments, critique welcomed as usual.

14 days of animation
After a rather social week and a bumming social event last night, I have my new project set in mind!
14 days of cycles
Starting today and continuing for the next 14 days, until my significant other arrives, I will create 1 cycle per day. What I hope to accomplish from this is increase the speed at which I animate, I want to start from pose to pose and take it as close to completion as I can. I will be uploading my animations at the end of every night for the next 14 days.
I guarantee 7 different walks, and 7 different actions.

This time done for real!
Finishing this animation was like battling Odin himself, but thankfully my graphics card pulled through. I'm really thankful to my friends who helped me out with critique. As you can see, I closed in on the characters (emphasis on the "s") reworked some critical timing issues, and other minor adjustments.
Now, onward to animation cycles!
PS- I love the new Blogger labels setup.

Thanks for the critique!
I received a lot of great feedback from friends and out of respect for their time and effort I will continue polishing this piece with their great critique in mind. Also, big major thanks to my buddy who spoke the greatest words of wisdom that now enabled me to import a second Norman rig to proper scale into my scene.
Now! as originally intended for the audience, re-framed!

Animation, done!
It was a rushed process, as I wanted to allow myself plenty of time for the April 11 Second club competition, which I'm still conflicted on as I want to work on some more cycles >:) That aside I must say, I really enjoyed every step of this animation. It was a challenging processes acting out and animating a bound up character, which I feel with the time I had to work on I did a good job. Definitely something to come back to and attempt once again.
Alive!
Oh hi there!
Would you look at that, I have a blog; a blog thirsting for an update! So here it is, this is my WIP for the February 11 second club competition which I started and left in hiatus. I left the city for a while with no computer to finish, so here it is to finishing this animation.
Comments, and critique highly appreciated!

DEMO REEL!!
I was also forgetting this!!
In this day an age of communication, and with the numerous sites I post in I tend to forget to post and update each one, but anywho, what you were waiting for! My demo reel!
Hope you all enjoy it and post some feedback for me! :)

Due to unknown reasons I couldn't properly link the youtube video here, and because blogger slaughtered the quality of my reel I recommend you watch it through here:
C.O.M.P.L.E.T.E.
School is officially a thing of the past (for the time being). I'm currently tweaking and fixing my demo reel as I'm urgently searching for a job in the industry, so if you hear of any place searching for a animator, send them my way :)
Anywho, as promised, the fruit or our Lost City Production's womb I present to you our final CG animated trailer!
This is final, as most of us has gone our separate ways and no longer in the same city. But I feel critique is always more than welcomed.
Enjoy!!

WIP my animation contributions to Unkil
With my nerves on the edge, I take a short break with my ohh so tasty blueberry muffin and delicious cup of icy cold milk to bring you some entertainment.
So from the previous animatic these are the shots that I've worked on, I'm happy to see my rig followed through and is carrying its weight considering I hadn't done any serious rigging in Maya previous to this project (Max all the way! Whoo!! :P) Which means my next rig will be even better. Ooohhhh yyeeaahhhhh.
These shots are still works in progress as you will probably notice, anywho without further delay, I present you. My work-
This scene here the son is walking up the the pedestal, the kid needs more motivation. It's currently a basic walk, as my previous attempt at walking slowly resulted in a limping walk with the camera movement.
This here has been nothing but back and forward play. I slightly hurt my back shooting reference for this shot, as coming to a sudden stop in uneven floors is not the best of situations. Back on track though, with the length of the shot the acting and readability of the poses was conflicting, and I must say, I'm going somewhere now, thanks to my teachers suggestions.
Again with another short shot, simple motion. This is probably the closest to completion that I have, just needs slight tweaking and it'll be good.
Could you guess if I didn't tell you that this is yet again, another quick shot. This shot is lacking a lot of work, mostly considering some good ol' blend shapes to get the facial animation in. I'm not liking the last tweak on the fingers, so it shall be corrected.
Well folks, with that I bid you farewell, as tomorrow....
CAREER FAIR!!
